Pennsylvania

Being the fifth most populous state of the nation, the state of Pennsylvania  is a state spanning the Mid-AtlanticNorth-eastern, and Appalachian regions of the United States.  It shares borders with Delaware to the south-east, Maryland to the south, West Virginia to the south-west, Ohio to the west, Lake Erie and the Canadian province of Ontario to the north-west, New York to the north, and the Delaware River and New Jersey to the east. It is also the thirty third largest state by area, and ninth most densely populated.

It was founded in 1681 by William Penn (right) and was established as a haven for religious and political tolerance, having peaceful relations with the native tribes and the federal government. Pennsylvania was one of the three original British colonies through which the United States of America was founded as an independent nation.
